I am really happy for & want to congratulate that after 4 years you want to study.

(A) How you should choose career?

1) Passion/ Interest:
Pls see & check what do you really like to become. Such a Teacher, Anchor, Journalist, CA, CS, MBA etc. You should become wht you like.

2) Package/Salary:
Choose a career which will fetch you good money. That is you are able to meet your daily neccesities easily with your salary apart from some savings. Further, I also advice students to not really bother about salary in your youth, only worry about how to grow & learn. One day will come that you will receive whatever you want without even thinking about it.

3) For Good:
Choose a career through which you are able to contribute to the upliftment of the society & nation at large.

(B) Whether CA is good for you? Whether you should work under a CA?

Dear, I will tell you the benefit of doing CA:

1) Its a prestigious course & fees of the course is also very less. Fees of total course is Rs.38,000.

2) While doing CA you have to undergo training, and you will get exposure in all the fields of finance & commerce, such as:

>How to make entries in the books
>How to make Balance sheets
>How to make tax computation
>How to save tax
>How to do audit & check clients books
>Knowledge of different statutory laws such as PF, ESI, Company Law, Income Tax, Indirect Tax (CST, VAT, Service Tax, Excise, customs) and the list goes on.
>many more advanced things.

3) CA is a one stop shop which provides almost every service related to finance & commerce, so they earn good salary as well.

4) They also contribute for the welfare of nation, as many CA's send there recommendations for changing income tax laws etc. for the betterment.

5) Only disadvantage, for completeing CA u need to devote 5yrs (approx).

6) You can learn lot of things if you work under a CA. And if you do so, they also support in your preparation of exams. Further you will get benefit in terms of how to appear in CA exams. You will get practicle knowledge from there. In addition , you can make your own personal clients to earn extra money.

Conclusion:
Anamika, you need to decide whether you like CA as your career. If yes, then don't worry & give your all.

Age should not be a matter for doing CA.

Only thing you will require is determination and dedication and passion for Accounts, Taxation, Law.

If you are liking those subjects, then definitely you should go for it.

Else you can do MBA Finance for a corporate job.

First of all congratulations that you gave decided to study further. Age is not a limit to pursue education for those who are determined. To answer your query, as you have expressed interest in doing job under CA I would like to state few details of how to enrol in this course.

Firstly you need to clear a Common Proficiency Test (CPT) after which you have to do Articleship under some practicing CA firm/ professional. Then the final exam requires clearing a written test. Let me also tell you that the CA results each year are very stringent and strict and to clear CPT exam and CA written exam may require multiple attempts. If number of attempts are not a demotivating factor for you then you can surely take up CA.
