Hi There,
The major criteria to pursue a course from a college / university is to check the recognition and or validity of the institute. Followed by placements and lastly its student exchange program.
NIFM, is an AICTE approved university, which means its recognised by the industry, at the same time they do have a placement cell and also a student exchange policy.
This does not mean I give an approval to pursue a course from the college. I would like you to now study the college, meet the placement cell and also if possible check with the alumni of the college.
It will help you to make a choice.
Check:

Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck....
Dear Aspirant,
Excellently answered by Meghna.
According to me, NIFM is a good Institute, recognised and has a good track record.
PGDM from NIFM would be a good option. Do visit the Institute yourself, speak to faculties, placements department, current and past students to make an informed and strong decision.
Best wishes

Dear Aspirant.
NIFM is an autonomous Institution of Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India and the PGDFM is a 2-year full-time program and it has been recognized by AICTE as well by AIU for considering it equivalent to a masters program.
It has collaboration with various National Institutions i.e. NSE, HIPA, ICAI, and International Institutions of repute such as :
which gives its a unique advantage over other institutions.
As rightly said by Ms. Meghna, the major criteria to pursue a course from a college/university is to check the recognition and or validity of the institute, Followed by placements and lastly its student exchange program.
If we look into these as criteria, NIFM qualifies on all the parameters of being a good institution. Above being under control of Ministry of Finance of Govt. of India, it will always have an advantage over the other private institution.
The formation of this is quite similar to the other Govt. Institution i.e. IIM, IIT etc. and it is one of the premium institutes for studying Financial Management in India.
The other benefit being a govt institution is about the fees, which very low compared to other private colleges.
In my Opinion, it is one of the best institutes to study your desired course.
Hope this will be helpful to you.
Best Wishes and Happy Learning.
