The communication skills are very important to everyone including zoologist. The communication skills, or interpersonal skills, soft skills, peoples skills, social skills are very important aspect of the personality of a person. All of us are naturally borne with communication skills, what we never bother about how we communicate with others whether in group or with an individual.

It has been said, that person having strong communication skills are calm, cool, confident, optimistic and charismatic. The person with excellent communication skills are very successful in their personal and professional life.





As a zoologist, you have work with team, your team will be students, colleagues, seniors, and some time clients. If you have good communication skills then you can effectively convey your opinion to others, specially in the class to the students. In meeting also, either you get convinced or convince other. This you can do by saying few meaningful words.









The common communication skills are:

1. Verbal communications skills; what we say and how we say it, our pitch should not be too high or low, it should be easily audible.

2. Non verbal communication skills; here we do not say any word, our body language conveys the meaning

3. Listening skills; how we interpret the both verbal and non verbal communication messages. A zoologist should be a good listener, we have to show interest in other talks or what they are saying. Unless we listen properly, we cannot understand them. The poor listening makes assumptions, creates resistance and hostility and demoralizes the speaker.

4. Empathy; it means being open to the ideas of others and being sensitive to their values and feelings. We should learn to see the things from others perspectives.

5. Negotiation; working with others to find a mutual agreeably solution.

6. Problem solving; we should able to solve problems by amiable and amicable behavior.

7. Anger management; one has to learn to control emotions, anger should be expressed at right time and place. If shown routinely, then it has no value.

Being zoologist, you have to interact with people of all ages and mental status, your effective and excellent communication skills can make you very popular among students and colleagues.
