Hello..

Dear Student to study MSc Chemistry from any IITs - Indian Institute of Technology, you need to clear JAM -joint Admission Test for MSc. or you can also go through CAT- common admission test.

There are total of sixteen IIT In India currently and name are as mentioned below:

  1. IIT Bhubaneswar
  2. IIT Bombay
  3. IIT Delhi
  4. IIT Gandhinagar
  5. IIT Guwahati
  6. IIT Hyderabad
  7. IIT Indore
  8. IIT Jodhpur
  9. IIT Kanpur
  10. IIT Kharagpur
  11. IIT Madras
  12. IIT Mandi
  13. IIT Patna
  14. IIT Roorkee
  15. IIT Ropar
  16. IIT (BHU) Varanasi.

As per JAM exam list of colleges, almost all the colleges are having reservation for seats for the OBC candidates and all are having chemistry branch.

Reservation are more or less like as mentioned below:
IIT Bombay- 11 seats for OBC in chemistry for MSc. and 5 seats in MSc plus PHd dual programme
IIT Delhi- 15 seat for OBC in chemistry
IIT guwahati -13 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Kanpur- 11 seats in chemitry for OBC
IIT Kharagpur- 12 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Madras- 16 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Roorkee- 6 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Bhubaneswar- 5 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Ghandinagar- 2 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Hyderabad- 8 seats in chemistry for OBC
IIT Indore- 3 seats for OBC in chemistry

Again For GATE exam it will be different and some seats will be there. So based on the availability of seats you need to calculate and check. If you are getting rank withing the number of seats available than definitely you are there in the merit list and can enroll in the programme and college you desired.

Above are may be varying or changed and less or more but reservation is there for OBC candidates in almost all fields and colleges as per government legal norms. So if you will work hard and do little more practice than you can easily be selected in the top colleges of India and can secure your future. But after getting also you need to work hard and take the course seriously to excel and get placed in good companies as you have to score good to seat in the personal interviews of good companies. College will not allow to sit students in placement if you failed in any exam or say the job offer letter will be withdrawn, it will not be valid if you have back logs.

All the Best!!
