Hi Kurosaki,
MBA seems to be a very obvious choice among students after Engineering. However, one needs to be extra careful when considering Post Grad options, as you are most likely to work in the selected field.
As per the interest areas that you have mentioned above, an MBA in Finance: Your love for numbers and logical reasoning will play an important role for you to succeed, a course in Actuarial Sciences: Problem Solving skills required to a great extent, the job role entails analyzation of statistical data regarding mortality, accident, sickness, and disability to predict the probability of future risk and liability.
You can also, look at Post Graduate courses in Statistics based on your interests.
Dear Aspirant,
Very sad to see another case where the candidate is not happy with the course and future of the career is concerned. Civil Engineering is a good field with good scope.
Now that you have decided that you wish to leave Civil Engineering, to begin with please ensure that even if you dont like it, you should score atleast 55% in the degree of civil engineering.
If you like playing with numbers very much which is a good thing, I suggest you the below options:
1. Chartered Financial Analyst
2. Actuaries (Insurance)
3. Data Analytics
4. Business Intelligence
I would definitely suggest an MBA if you are not choosing any ot the above options. Since you are good with numbers, I would suggest you to aim at 99 or 100 percentile in MBA entrance test which will land you in the Top 3 BSchools in India, through which your career can reach heights.
Best wishes
In order to post replies to the question: "I am finishing btech in civil in may,2017.I am deeply interested in probleming solving and logical reasoning.I want to make my career out of my interests.Should I go for MBA?i like playing with numbers very much.I don't like to go for civil engineering "
