Hello Mayur,Welcome to Career Guide.comThanks for visiting us and writing us your career query.
Its good to know that you have been studying your 12th from commerce and have been giving a thought to make your career in the CA.
Chartered Accountant is a profession that deals with the accounts and auditing and taxation of the companies and of an individual. Its a professional parttime course. This is one of the promising career and requires around 50,000 CA professionals every year.
One can start CA studies right from 11th standard. The student needs to register with the ICAI institute. You can register at the nearby ICAI Chapter . After registration you can give Common Proficiency Test (CPT) after you have either passed 12th or have appeared 12th. Once you pass CPT exam you get eligible for the next exam i.e IPCC- Integrated Professional Competence Course- in this there are GROUP I and II you have to give both the groups and after this you have to undergo 3 years of Internship under CA ;you can start internship after clearing your Group I ans can give exam of Group II along with your internship, this saves your time, however you should not neglect your studies and IT Training of 100 hours conducted by ICAI institute. On successful clearing and fulfilling all the things you get eligible to give CA Final Group Exam. After completing CA Final Exam you become a Certified Chartered Accountant by ICAI institute.
As CA is a parttime professional course its not considered as a degree so do your further studies in B.com and take the degree. Degree is the basis of your career.
I hope you find this information relevant to your career query.

Thank you Prathamesh Sir for answering my query
Dear Aspirant,
I am happy that you have asked this question at the right time and glad that you have decided to do the most coveted and respected profession in commerce field.
How to become a CA has already been explained fantastically by Ms. Prathamesh.
Just to add, ensure that you study hard and clear the CA groups in least number of attempts. The lesser the number of attempts, more the chances of good salary and job profile. Along with CA, also plan to do some add on courses like ERP, Tally, IFRS, etc.
Best wishes

12th is right time to start preparation for CA.Well, career experts have already shared details about CA .
I sharing tips for preparing for CA.At this point of time, focus on 12 the exam but start preparing for CA in a way that it doesn't disturb your 12th exam preparation.
After 12th, you may join BCom along with CA preperation. CA will cover many of BCom subjects so it would be easy for you to crack BCom. At the end, you will have graduate degree. However, graduation is optional. CA is equivalent to post graduation. CAs are eligible to do PhD. Check for details: www.icai.org/new_post.html?post_id=8378&c_id=352. Therefore, Bcom is not at all mandatory. Only you have to take decision about it. Pursuing graduation is desirable. There is mutual benefit of doing BCom along with BCom. It helps you prepare for CA well and CA preparation helps you complete graduation easily.
CA exam is tough and systematic efforts is requires. At some point of time, coaching is required. Therefore, joining a coaching would be helpful.
Best wishes for your bright career,Apurva Kumar Pandya, PhD
Graduation is a must even though you complete CA.
Never take chances by not doing formal graduation. Though CA, CS, CWA is recognised as equivalent to a Post Graduate degree, that does not mean that it is a substitute to Graduation.
Dear Dr. Anand,
Thanks for your reply and pointing out the concern. I think there is some misunderstanding. Let me clarify my point. I did not mean to say that graduation is not important. In my answer, I have not devalued the importance of graduation. My point is that graduation is not mandatory for CA as the CA is recognized as equivalent to Postgraduate.
Graduation is desirable but not mandatory. Therefore, I do not agree with your statement, "Graduation is a must even though you complete CA."
If you find information shared by me is wrong then point out and help me know it. I would love to learn from other experts as well. I provide information and facilitate decision-making rather than imposing personal judgements or viewpoints to students. I believe in encouraging and empowering students and allow them to take informed decisions.
I take your reply to my answer as positive and learning experience.
Best Wishes,Apurva Kumar
