Hello friend,

You are a graduate in Microbiology, but being a simple graduate in Microbiology, is very difficult to make a bright future. You may get job, but it will not be good for you in long life. You may be inducted as technician, with not a decent salary.

If you really wish to make a bright future where life is good, then you have to go for higher education. You have chosen a good subject, now you need to do minimum post graduation in Microbiology. After MSc you will be eligible to get jobs in government sector and in private companies. In government sector you will be eligible to work in research projects, as Research Associate, Senior Research fellow, Junior Research Fellow. These are time bound positions and the usual tenure is of three years, extendable to another one year. After completion of project you have to look for another project or another job. The post graduate are also eligible as Science Teacher in schools. Now you have decide yourself, what you wish to be in future, and what is your definition of good life.

After M.Sc You can also try for Technical Officer positions, advertised by CSIR, ICAR institutions and laboratories. These are permanent position and the nature of job is usual research work.

If you pursue for doctoral degree in Microbiology or related subject, then the career will be much easier for you. You will be technical eligible to join a lecturer, assistant professor and assistant scientist in colleges, universities, research institutions and governmental laboratories. Once you make an entry in these organization, then career life will be good for you.

Let me tell you, life is not easy, if you wish to achieve success i your life and career, then hard work is required. After making an entry as lecturer or professor, it does not mean, that target has been achieved. You have to work hard to sustain and progress. There will be no problem, if you do your duties perfectly, in any field. I know many persons who joined government sector as lecturer, but they did not progress owing to their take it easy way. Their juniors are now their superior.

So one thing in mind, that hard work is key to success. Subject Microbiology has good scope in government and private sector. You may decide which sector to choose after becoming technically and educationally qualified.

Good Luck..
