Hello Prerna,
Happy dusshera,
Your qualifications all seems a bit haphazard. After a Biotechnology course a P.hd in Psychiatry and a distance learning in psychology. I dont get the connection.
Which course do you wish to make a career in. Biotechnology or psychiatry. Anyways according to me since you are doing a research in psychiatry best would be to continue in the same fieldm
But please note a psychologists and a psychiatrist are both in the same field. A psychologists is a mental health professional who deals with therapies and counseling techniques and administers test but not medicines. Whereas a Psychiatrist, is a mental health professional who apart from counseling and therapies administer drugs to their clients. They come from the medical field and are actually doctors, with knowledge in medicine. Psychologists work hand in hand with a Psychiatrists.
Since Psychiatrists are medical doctors, I doubt you could function as a Psychiatrists after a P.hd in psychiatry. Anyways a distance learning in psychology, can help you function as a counselor. But for that I would recommend, working or atleast internship with a counseling organization so that whatever you learn in the course you could have practical experience too.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
Too weird education pattern you have been following. Firstly, how did you get admission to Psychiatry based on MTech Biotechnology, when both of them are not related to each other in anyway? I am surprised. You say that you are currently doing MA Psychology through distance mode too. How can you do MA and PhD together? This is impossible. It appears that you have resorted to some other ways to get entry into two courses simultaneously.
Psychiatry is a medical profession where as Psychology is non medical profession. It appears that you have resorted to some other ways to get entry into two courses simultaneously.
And then how can you think that you can continue in Biotechnology as well Psychiatry simultaneously?
You will NOT be able to have both the careers together. One person cannot be on two planes going to different locations. It is as simple as this.
Your entire education graph seems suspicious.
I am sorry to say but I feel you are landing no where.
Please choose one permanently and focus.
Best wishes
