Hi Ritu,
Good question.
But a fall back would be needed only at the post graduate level.
Because the basic qualification for student to join Civil service exam is a Graduation degree with minimum 50%.
With the combination you have mentioned, you could graduate in a subject of your choice right from:
As far as Post graduation is concerned, you could:
Though I have listed down a backup plan, but as a Counselor I am strictly against the thought of a backup plan also from entering the mind. When you know, there is an alternate route, focus tends to shift. I would strongly recommend, focus on your goals to join civil services. Start preparing right from now itself. Preparations in terms of reading, everything that you can lay your hands on right from sports to music to cooking to medicine to politics to history etc. Please note not just reading, but being able to articulate it is necessary. Being logical and witty and maintaining your opinion is a must.
Wish you all the very best dear...
Dear Aspirant,
Very good thinking and a cautious approach as well. I am happy that you are aiming for civil services. Firstly you need to be determined and extremely focused while preparing for the Civil Services examinations. You should not think at all of a fall back options at the very starting stage, since somewhere at the back of your mind, you have the relax feeling that f you cannot make it to civil services there is always something available which will make you run in life.
However, I would surely tell you some of the fall-back options considering your Humanities subjects:
However do not choose randomly your graduation subjects.
I feel taking the Ideal Career Test from CareerGuide will be a scientific way to know what potential you have in you in terms of aptitude, inter personal abilities and interests.
Best wishes
