Choosing a specialization is similiar to choosing a career or stream, whereby knowing your likes and dislikes, your potentials and attitude is highly important.

But one major criteria you need to keep in mind before selecting a stream is knowledge about various specilizations available in your line of interests. This will help you segregate each majors in terms of their job details, industry orientation and attributes needed to be successful.

Thus here before you select a specilization, 2 things you need to do is:

1. Know yourself better. What are your strengths, likes your approach towards work etc. Basically a Self introspection is important
2. Thorough knowledge about all specillizations available. Right from what the field is all about, job or duties available and which industry do they fit with and most importantly future prospects.
   Thus doing a little research is important. Best way to find ll this would be through Reading, but you can also if possible go meet professionals in those areas or seniors who are studying or have graduated. Also can approach your professors.
