Is BCA only for Science students?

In answer to the question that is BCA a course only for the Science students, it can be said that BCA is a course suitable to all stream students. Apart from Science students, students with the background of Commerce as well as Humanities can pursue BCA. In order to get admission in BCA in most of the colleges/universities, the student should have scored a minimum aggregate of 45% or 50% marks(whichever is specified by the college or university) in 12th class. Some colleges require the student to have studied and passed in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th. Some colleges/universities require the student to have studied either Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Practices. But having studied and passed in some specific subject is not the only limited option for being eligible to pursue BCA. Some colleges/universities conduct an entrance based examination on the basis of which only the students from any stream can get admission into BCA by getting the required score in the entrance exam.

After clearing the entrance exam students are also required to clear other stages, if any, like personal interview, group discussion etc. By passing these few simple stages including the entrance test, students from any stream background can easily get into BBA.

BCA is considered to be a very good option for students of Commerce and Humanities. This is because since there is a good number of professional courses available for science stream students. But Commerce and Humanities stream students do not have much options for professional courses. Commerce stream students have the option of going into management. But there are a lot of students who are not interested in going into management. They want to pursue some different professional course. For them, BCA is a highly lucrative option. In case of students having a background of Humanities, BCA is an opportunity for them which enable them to excel in life. In conclusion, it can be said that BCA is not a course just for students having a background of Science. Students from any stream can pursue this course. Moreover, it can be considered a boon for Commerce and Humanities students as it give them an opportunity to stand out in the world of computer.
