Hello

Thank you for choosing Mera career guide and writing to us.
Business Analyst
I understand you are studying a pure science group that includes PCMB- Physics Chemistry Maths Biology right? Taking up this group as a study choice usually leads an opportunity to study Engineering and Medicine. However if you are not interested in studying either of them then you still hold a variety of options to choose from.

Before that why don't you consider taking up a psychometric assessment from this website? Taking the test you will understand your interests and capabilities a lot more and get some clarity in what you would like to do. It will help you to find the right career for you.

I shall give you a brief idea on the type of subjects you can take if you dont want to take up Engg and medicine.
  1. BSc Psychology
  2. BA Sociology
  3. BA Maths
  4. BSc History
  5. BSc Geography
  6. BA Political Science
  7. BBA - Bachelor of business administration
  8. BSc Biotechnology
  9. BSc physics
  10. BSc Chemistry
  11. BA English
  12. BA Foreign languages
  13. Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
  14. Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  15. BA/ BSc/ B.Des. Fashion designing
  16. B.Des. Designing
  17. BSc Medical technology
  18. BSc Biochemistry
  19. BA Arts
  20. BA Mass and communications

I have listed the various subjects you can study with a PCMB route above. I would also like to alert you that many students fail to consider BAMS - Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine Surgery, BHMS- Bachelor of Homeopathy medicine and surgery as education and career options. Getting a seat to study BAMS/ BHMS is relatively a bit easy compared to the traditional MBBS routes. Studying these degrees can give you the Doctor title and also give careers at hospitals, private clinics, research labs, consultant, private practitioner and many more. In fact a BAMS and BHMS degree can also give you high scope in pharmaceutical companies that manufacture medicines. And more recently with a BAMS degree you can also work at pharmaceutical companies that manufacture ayurvedic medicine and cosmetic products. You can also work as an ayurvedic consultant at luxury and energy rejuvenate spa. Yoga and meditation centres also employ ayurvedic practitioners. These subject offers a wide opportunity and lots of students fail to understand the capabilities through this route. May be there are less awareness. But the career is promising.

Please write back of you require further assistance. Thanks.

Hi There,

Firstly there is no alternate to any course you can think of.
Every stream has their own value and importance.

Someone who is interested in Medicine, but does not wish to put in long years of study, can then opt for Para-Medical services.
Options like:

  • Nursing
  • Medical lab technician
  • Radiologists
  • X-Ray technician
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Psychology

As such engineering is more of a research oriented field.
So you can opt for Research field, whereby you would be the base for research that is assisting the technician. So you could opt for a B.Sc programs in:

Apart from this, if you have opted for Math and are interested in creativity and designing aspects, then you could opt for either:

Before you select any option, I would recommend, you to undergo an Aptitude tests, that will point out your potentials and help you choose a stream.

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck and All the very best for 12th.

Dear Aspirant,

Engineering and Medical are the biggest options in Science, however there is much more in Science field.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.
You can then call counsellors to discuss.

Best wishes!
