Have you completed your Academic Degree from any recognized Indian University? If you are going to say ‘yes’ then you apparently are eligible to appear for the IAS/IPS exam. And if you don’t have such any Degree then you go ahead and complete it. The UPSC lets you appear for the exam even if you are in your final year of the Degree course provided you need to present your passing certificate to UPSC Interview panel at the time of interview.
For the application process, you need to go to www.upsc.gov.in and www.upsconlline.nic.in which are the official websites of the UPSC. Every year UPSC comes with the notification in the month of February as this year it is going to come on 22nd February 2017, according to the Examination Calendar for the year 2017. So you can appear for the coming Civil Services Prelims exam which will be held on 18th July 2017. The Prelims is the first exam in a series, after which the Mains, the second stage, is going to be held in October. Finally, the candidates who clear the Mains will be called for the Personality Test, i.e. the Interview. Thus, there are three stages for the one exam.
