CA as a career option is a good career option. It has a good scope and great demand. CA is a person who audits the accounts of the companies. A students from the commerce background can make a good career in the CA. Its a highly payed and respected career option.

In order to make a career in CA there are two options to pursue CA. One has to do the registeration with the ICAI institute. A person who has completed 12th was supposed to give a CA CPT exam (now the CA CPT exam name is changed to CA Foundation Course). The CA CPT exam was a qualifying exam for the CA course. Even a student who has completed a Graduation degree was supposed to give a CA CPT exam.

But now the ICAI institute has made changes in the entry level for Graduate Students to CA from August 2012. So now a Graduate student can apply directly for the Intermediate Course , no need to give a Foundation Course exam. But there are certain things that you need to fulfill in order to get an admission through the Direct ENtry Scheme.

1. A commerce Graduate need to have scored minimum 55% from a recognised universit having studied any three subjects of at least 100 marks in the Graduation Accounting,Auditing,Taxation(Direct and Indirect Tax),Financial Accounting,Costing,Business Administration or Business Accounting.

OR

2.A student who has completed a Graduation from any stream except from commerce need to have 60% marks in the Graduation Degree gets eligible for the Direct Entry Level Scheme.
