Computer Engineers may work in hardware as well software - designing, analyzing and evaluating computer systems. The work of a Computer Engineer is grounded in the hardware - from circuits to architecture - and also focuses on operating system and architecture.

Computer engineers who specialize in computer hardware work in research, design, development, testing, and supervision of all aspects of the manufacturing and installing of computer hardware. The hardware of a computer includes chips, circuit boards, systems, keyboards, modems, printers, and other related equipment. Some computer hardware engineers have a background in electronics because the two fields are related, because computer hardware involves circuitry.

Computer engineers specializing in software need to be fluent in a variety of programming languages, like Java, C++, and COBOL. Being well-versed in the Internet is an absolute must, as many businesses have or want to establish a website or web applications in order to grow their client bases.

In different companies, Computer Engineers experience wide range of work from system design to computer architecture, software development and applications development. The scope of Computer Engineering is huge and so are the work profiles of Computer Engineers

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Computer engineers are responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing computer-based hardware and software, including the compenents that are found inside computer equipment, as well as actual devices that contain the computers and the software that runs on those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Education Requirements:
To become Computer Engineer, you will typically require a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities or Required Technical skills:
Since the Computer engineering field is quite broad, the requiredtechnical skills listed in the job postings you come across will vary, depending on whether the job is more hardware - or software focused, and which industry the employer belongs to . Typically, you will need to have the followings:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with
2. Experience designing, coding and testing software
3. Familarity with softwaretest procedures or scripts.
4. Experience building your own PC system.
5. Understanding of different operating systems, including Window and Linux, and how certain types of software will work with them.
6. Experience with device drivers.
7. Understaing of networking and security
8. Understanding of the (sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in particular industry.
9. Knwoledge of programming languages sych as C, C++, Java and other Object-oriented languages.

Computer Engineers usually use computer-assisted software engineering, or CASE, tools to automate the process. Theyalso test, debug and update programs.

Other Crucial Skills:
Since Computer engineers work closely with programmers, designers, product devlopers and testers, they really need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

Fields employing Computer engineers:
Computer engineers are likely to find work in a variety of fields, including (but not limited to):
1. Telecommuications
2. Manufacturing
3. Transportation
4. Product Development

Here are some interesting "niche" areas of Computer Engineering:
1. Working with Radar and Communications technology.
2. Supporting high performance and embedded computing systems for nuclear medicines.
3. Military software support
4. Designing new motors and sensors for robotics equipment..

Further doubts or queries feel free to contact..
