The job in jewellery industry involves the identification and testing of jewellry and gemstones and then casting and molding jewellery. Some of the major tasks performed by jewellerey designers are desigbing, manufacturing and marketin . The designer is repsonsible for preparing sketches after consulting with the customer or manufacturing team. The designer prepares detailed drawings, astructured model , computer stimulations and a full scale prototype. The people involved in the manufacturing process are involved in preparing a design model by shaping the metal or by carving wax and soldering the individual parts together. After carving wax or other general processes finsishing works such as setting stones or gems, polishing, engraving etc are done. Nowadays CAD softwares are used in the manufacturing units to facilitate produce design to avoid mistakes during the designing process. After completing the model design large scale production process using computer adided manufacturing process starts. As a jewellery designer one can find employment in variours jewellery desiggn and manufacturuing units, export houses and in well known jewellery brand names such as Tanishq, D-damas, Nakshatra etc. A person after gaining some experience can opt for setting up his own design studio and workshop or can work as a freelance designer.
