I am listing down the various criteria you need to meet, if you want to work as a Business Analyst in India: Having an Engineering background is the most important criteria for most of the companies. That too from a premier college. Most of these companies have shortlisted the top engineering colleges of India and hire from those colleges only. Both on campus as well as off campus. In certain cases, companies prefer students with MBA degree. Therefore if you are from non engineering background then you should go for MBA if you want to get in to this profile. The prospective employee needs to have sharp analytical skills. Companies generally conduct aptitude based written test for hiring purposes and students need to score extremely well in that test. The communication skills, both written and oral, have to be extremely good. The proficiency in English is must, if you are looking for a career as Business Analyst. One needs to have extremely good interpersonal skills if they want to become Business Analyst. The academic record of a student reflects their consistency, work ethicsand determination. Students with extraordinary academic backgrounds are generally preferred.
