BBA and B.Com are two subjects which have been confusing a lot of students since long. There are many students who don’t have a clear understanding of what field they want to pursue their career in. And even if they do, many times they lack proper guidance. I will not tell you what course to choose because that choice has to be, needs to be your own. But I will definitely tell you the difference between both courses, and help you achieve the future you want for yourself.
BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)
BBA is a three-year full-time course which deals with various topics related to Business Management and Entrepreneurship. BBA covers topics like Finance, Operations Management, Marketing, Human Resource and allows students to sharpen their Management skills.
After completing BBA, students can apply for jobs such as Business Consultant, Operations Manager, Financial Analyst, Human Resources Manager and much more.
Students usually opt for further education after completing their BBA and pursue MBA to improve their Management skills and get better job opportunities and BBA is especially helpful if a student pursues MBA.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce)
B.Com is also a three-year course, and it deals with topics related to Accountancy and Finance. The major topics that are included in this course are Financial Accounting, Taxation, Business Law etc. In some colleges, B.Com (Hons) course is also offered which may require additional academic courses as well as higher academic performance standards. But it also helps if a student opts for further education like M.Com or Ph.D.
After the successful completion of a B.Com course, a student can go for jobs in Accountancy field, but B.Com is really helpful if a student wishes to become a Chartered Accountant (CA), and it is the most common choice nowadays, but apart from that, there are also great options like M.Com and even MBA.
Some of the best colleges in India that provide a B.Com degree are:
BBA over B.Com
If a student wants to go for MBA for their higher studies, BBA may be the better choice. While it will not help you to crack the CAT, the competitive exam for entrance in MBA colleges, or B-Schools (As they are usually called), BBA definitely helps when you get admitted into one because the advanced course material will be easier to handle, making your overall experience smoother.
B.Com over BBA
If you are good with numbers and love Accounting, chances are that you would find yourself wanting to consider B.Com, and you should go for it because it will take you a long way. But if you are uncomfortable with numbers, I would advise you not to opt for this course as there is a lot of number crunching.

Conclusion
Everything in this world has some pros and cons, and so do these two courses. However, it is entirely up to a student to decide what pros they would consider, and what cons they are ready to live with. If you are looking forward to doing your own business, you are going to need good management skills, and BBA is the way to go and would be great if followed by an MBA. However, if you are good with numbers, and are interested in Accounting, go for B.Com without thinking twice. And if you haven’t decided yet, now is the time to sit and think about what you want to be!
