Hi Aman,
No, you can’t do LLB form correspondence as it is not offered through correspondence, therefore if you want to become a lawyer, start considering a law course through regular mode. Therefore, what you really need to do is apply for the integrated law course, since you have completed 12th standard. The only difference is that while LLB is 3 years long program can be done after graduation, but of integrated law course, like BA LLB is a 5 years program and can be done after 12th standard. On the other hand, after completing graduation and then LLB take 6 years. Therefore, you should apply for the BA LLB or any other integrated law course. You can appear for the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) which is conducted for candidates completed 12th standard. It is important that you have completed 12th to apply for it. At the time of applying, you will have to submit all the documents verifying that you actually have completed 12th. The eligibility criteria for applying is 12th pass from any stream with minimum 50% marks and age should be less than 20 years.
Dear Aspirant,
It appears that you are misinformed about correspondence courses. Not every course is allowed or is available through correspondence.
Considering Law as a career is a very good option and definitely, you are on the right track and have asked this question at the right time.
It would be ideal that you join the 5-year integrated full-time course of Graduation+LLB from a recognised college and university. You can appear for CLAT and aim for doing it from top Law Institutes in India.
Please let me inform you that as per Bar Council of India, LLB course CANNOT be offered through distance/part time/correspondence anywhere in India by any Institute or University. LLB course is governed by Bar Council of India. If someone has told you that LLB can be done through correspondence, then it is big false information.
If you wish to complete your graduation first, then you can join LLB after graduation and it would take 3 years and not 6 years. This is also full-time course.
Best wishes
