Hi There,
Looks like you are interested in making a career in Graphic designing.
Please note there are certificates or Diploma programs available too which ranges from 6 months to 1 year.
Whereas a degree course would be a total of 4 years and is called a B.Designing course. Few colleges call it a BA in Designing too. For which there is no entrance exam
For the B.Desg course, you would have to appear for designing entrance exam, where your imagination and creativity skills would be tested.
Also please note that Graphic designing falls under the heading of " Communication designing".
I would request you to first undergo an Aptitude tests to check your credentials in terms of your aptitude towards designing. Or else opt for the certificate courses available in private institutes that will give you an idea as to your designing skills.
Check these institutes for Graphic designing courses:
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
I agree with Ms. Meghna.
However instead of a degree in graphic designing which very few colleges offer in India, I would suggest you should do Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) after your 12th any stream. Doing BFA has many advantages. BFA gives you a whole perspective of designing world and not just graphic designing. It enables you to think, innovate and ideate. Ideas are the base for designing work, and doing BFA will give you the necessary strong foundation to make a career in the field of designing.
You can then definitely choose graphic designing and you can do a short term graphic designing course since it is computer aided. BFA and Graphic Designing Diploma/Certification will be the best combination and this has been seen many times in the designing industry.
As always said by me, hope you are sure that designing and that is Arts the career you have thought for yourself.
Best wishes
