Hi There,

In terms of a job, two things that matters the most is

  1. Institute where you have pursued the course
  2. Final year Score ( Academic score)

Though as such in the job market, experience is what is counted. But in-case if one is a fresher, just fresh out of college, then the only evaluation criteria is your marks.

Here as a counselor, I would suggest that, in-case you are not academically good, meaning you are unable to put your thoughts on paper and score well, please pay attention to the concepts. Get deep into the basics.
Since if your basic is strong and you have practical exposure, then later on no one can find faults with your work. Even in your first job, once people notice your talent, they would not be able to judge you then on the basis of your academic records.

So concentrate and get your concepts clear, than focusing on the percentage, though it cannot be ignored.

Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for writing to us!

Academic record of your last degree matters. Some organizations prefer students with at-least first class, however, if you have ability to share knowledge, demonstrate skills then don't worry about academic records.

What you need for good job is the conceptual clarity on theories, knowledge key concepts and information about latest trend related to the subject in the market. If you have these, academic record may be overlooked. Ultimately, your performance in an interview matters.

You can do certificate or diploma course relevant to your subject. This may give you additional weightage and express your commitment to the field.

Hope this is helpful.

Best Wishes,
