Hi Priyanshu!!
Systematic hard work will help you to clear the civil services exam. Keeping abreast of the important events happening in the country through TV and good newspapers should be good enough. You should read / listent to multiple points of view regarding the important events and develop your own firm opinion about the issues and learn to communicate them well, you can communicate in your own mother tongue also.
A few colleges and philanthropists have also started offering free coaching for civil services aspirants. Also look for willling mentors in your region, Civil servants who are from humble back grounds are keenly interested in helping students from humble back grounds.
God bless you with many opportunities and equal number of supporters!!
Dear Aspirant,
I am very impressed by your aim to become a civil servant by appearing for the UPSC exams.
In your case, self study is the only way through which you can clear the UPSC exam and that too in first attempt itself.
You should be reading a lot (newspapers, magazines) on general topics. Gathering as much information as possible since the general knowledge paper is tough. Always remember that UPSC IAS exam does not require deep mastery in a particular subject but knowledge and information about all the subjects. So do not try to remember everything since brain has limitations, but you should be smart to know what to study.
I suggest that you speak to any of your known friends who may have appeared for the UPSC exams. Alternatively, you can also search google for interviews who have cleared the exam and get tips and ways on how to study.
Best wishes
