Hello Aspirant,
Welcome to CareerGuide.Com, You can earn a lot in the next five years as a dietitian owing to the ever increasing demand for dietitians in private and government sectors. Employment of dietitians is expected to grow faster than the average because of increasing health problems, awareness of people to adopt preventive steps, growth in health care facilities, standardization of food and agro products etc. How much you can earn in the next five years depends on a variety of factors such as your level of education( Diploma, Bachelor's , Masters ), experience, organisation you are employed at, Location, your area of work ( Clinical, Management, Community, Consultant) and amount of effort you are willing to put in.
But if you start with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, then you stand a chance of starting with 1.5 to 3 lakhs , depending upon your skills, expertise in subject matter and performance at the interviews and selection process.Gradually with experience , the incentives, salaries etc. increases. The earnings are greater in Consultancy or Private practice in comparison to other areas of work. To start with , you can associate your self with any organisation on a full time basis and after two to three years of experience , you can forge partnerships with private dietetics clinics or hospitals and offer your services on a part time basis depending upon your free time. This will fetch you a decent earning of four to five thousand per month. After you establish good network and contacts and sound experience in your field, you can gradually shift to consultancy on a full time basis. Thereafter , your earnings will increase exponentially.
You should be a good listener to assess the clients nutritional needs , and a good communicator to influence people to follow your diet regimes and motivate them to hold on to derive benefits. Organisational, analytic and management skills will give extra mileage to your career. So, as you see from the above calculations, you can earn a approximate amount of 7 to 12 lakhs in the next five years as a dietitian. Hope this answers your query.
All the best.
