It is becoming increasingly and imperative for man to be able to manipulate the world around him in order to survive and as we continue to thrive we have to learn how to undo the damage we have done in past years. Chemical engineers are the only tool we have for new research and development in almost every field including the bio related and medical field, environmental science , research science and a large portion of the research done in the technological fields. It is one of the most diverse branch of engineering ranging from biotechnology and nanotechnology to mineral processing and covers diffrent segments of chemical technology in mineral based industries, petrochemical plants , pharmaceuticals and petroleum refining plants. Chemical engineers working in the chemical industry investigate the creation of new polymeric material with important electrical, mechanical or mechanical properties. In biotechnology industry chemical engineers are responsible for designing of production facilities to use microorganisms and enzymes to synthesize new drugs. In environmental engineering consultancies and organizations, chemical engineers are engaged in the development of processes to minimize the release of or deactivate products harmful to the environment. In biochemical industries , chemical engineers are engaged in doing research and finding ways to cure various diseases through application of chemicals and cure and improve the health of human beings. The engineers engaged in oil and natural gas industry delve into research for more efficient methods of obtaining these fuels and exercising them to their full potential, In today's world , with oil and gas prices fluctuating , no profession could be in higher demand
. The defense forces in certain countries recruit chemical engineers that specialize in polymer engineering as they can assist the defense forces in developing weapons. With a huge scope of growth because of the industrial expansion and the scarcity of resources needed , chemical engineering is emerging as one of the most lucrative and promising career option in the times to come.
