Hello Rahul,
IAS, stands for Indian Administrative Service. One of the most prestigious profile in governnent sector. IAS falls under the UPSC exam that is conducted by The Civil Service exams.
Please note to pursue IAS, one needs to appear for civil service exam. But the eligibility for the test is being a Graduate any stream.
Apart from graduation, be prepared for the UPSC exam. Engage in a lot of reading right from politics to sports to education etc whatever you can put your hands on. Not just reading but being able to communicate it. Being witty is also an essential skill required.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
When you are in the second year of your graduation, enrol yourself in a good coaching academy for UPSC preparation. Ideally, if you prepare dedicatedly for three years continuously, you have a great chance of clearing the IAS exam in first attempt. If you are at the under graduate level, then this is really a good time to start preparing for the UPSC exam.
For clearing the IAS exam, what you need is relentless studies, perseverance, patience, cool mind, systematic study, dedication and passion. It is definitely possible to have all these in you.
You need to read a lot about general knowledge, business, politics, economics, geography, history, etc. Remember that an IAS officer is a jack of all but master of few. So do not be behind mastering all the subjects. An IAS officer is an all rounder in terms of knowledge.
Best wishes
