Scope of Chemical Engineering 

Several major MNC’s, PSU’s and other government jobs wait for Chemical Engineers in India. When it comes to chemical engineers' income, they are well compensated. Freshers may expect to earn between INR 25,000 and INR 30,000 per month, but with experience and specialized skill sets, you can expect to earn between INR 5-7 lakhs per year. While salaries in the private and public sectors differ, there are high-end wage packages available for people prepared to work overseas.

Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear Research Centres also have jobs opportunities for Chemical Engineers. Several Chemical students have got jobs in BHABHA while now India is also building several Nuclear Power plants. We already have one in Tamil Nadu. This is just the beginning since the government has decided to focus on Nuclear energy to fulfill the power demand of the nation.

Pharmaceutical companies are also a good option for chemical engineers, they lead the way for campus interviews in India for chemical engineers. Ranbaxy is the most famous name in India and offers a lot of on-campus placements for Chemical students.

As far as Campus Placement is concerned, it depends on the college in which you do Chemical Engineering. If you want good placements, then definitely you should aim for doing chemical engineering in a good city irrespective of the city, state you live in. You should be ready to relocate for education. Further, you should also on the personal level ensure that you have the right soft skills, computer skills, personality, english language competence to get a job in first attempt.

Chemical Engineering is definitely useful in Pharmaceutical companies, industrial companies, plastic companies, chemical and pesticide companies, agricultural companies, etc. 

There is definitely scope for Chemical Engineering and as per my knowledge, it is considered as toughest among all other engineering branches.
