Hi,

TISS ( Tata Institute of Social Sciences) is an awesome institute to learn courses related to Social sciences and Human relations.

If your question is about, worthiness of doing M.A (Human Resource Management) after doing Mechanical Engineering, straight answer is "It's worth doing if you are interested in Human Resource studies"

The fact that you have searched about TISS MA(HRM) makes me think you have an inclination towards Human Resource Management. If I am right you are going in a right path. Try joining TISS. It's a place where you will definitely practically learn HRM and that will make you employable.

Trust me your employability doesn't just depend on whether you are doing an MBA or PGDM or M.A(HRM), but it depends on how much you have learnt HRM and I am sure you will be able to learn it very well when you come out of TISS.

There are also many other best institutes that teaches HRM very well. Check out

All the Best

Dear Aspirant,

TISS is definitely a class I Institute and is a Deemed University under UGC. Scope of this course is very good and is industry recognised.

Being a mechanical engineer, you wish to change your career track and get into HR? Hope you have decided this based on some concrete thinking and not just because you thought that HR would be a good option for earning. Being a mechanical engineer, you could have excellent opportunities in the industry.

I recommend you to decide your career on some systematic study and self discovery.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.
You can then call counsellors to discuss.

Best wishes!
