Agriculture is the main occupation of India.  A large contribution to the economy is done by the Agriculture and the Agriculture produce.  Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy.  India is the largest agriculture producing country in the world.  Agriculture field is an interesting field of study and many of students they have been taking up the science and engineering careers in the Agriculture.  Students who wish to do a career in Agriculture can go for the B.Sc degree or B.Tech/B.E Agriculture degree.  There is a lot of demand of the students i.e. B.Sc in Agriculture students have a wide scope of career opportunities in India.  A student can join the various research based government Agriculture departments, research organizations, fertilizer companies; Agri-Biotech Organizations, Financial Institute, Micro-Finance Companies, Agri based food industry etc. are some of the areas where you can get the good job opportunities.  You can also join the government banks as the Agriculture officers through the IBPS specialist officer exam.  You need to quality the specialist officer exam to be appointed as the Agriculture officer in any of the government nationalized banks.  If you plan to join SBI Bank you have to give a separate specialist officer exam conducted by the SBI itself you can also work with the various big players of food industry like ITC etc.
