It would be different if you get your education done as a Chef in India or abroad. Let's see how different it is.

1. The entry in most of the foreign hotel management courses is slightly difficult compared to the Indian institutes. In some cases you may be required to take additional exams.

2. If you get enrolled in a degree program abroad, you will have to pay much higher fee than you will be paying in India. This may remain a constraint to most students are looking to pursue their career abroad. Please visit the institutes website before you apply to any college or university.

3. In general, the learning and skills development will be better in foreign colleges than in India. Please note that I am assuming you are talking about only premier institutes. Also, there are few good colleges in India but the intake is very small.

4. The placement opportunities in foreign colleges - such as in USA, UK, Australia - will be far better than you will find here. The average salary in such countries is far more than in India. But of course so are the living expenses.

5. Studying in a foreign universities has its own effects. In some cases you may feel bad about staying away from home. But if you consider your career graph, it will be an added advantage in it. The globalized experience will be highlighted on your resume and every higher education institute or even employers will pay attention to it.

6. If you are studying abroad, it will be better for you to pursue your job in the same country. If you come back to India, there may be differences in the wages from what you might be getting there and also the industry requirements might be different here. Therefore if you want to work in India only, studying in India would be a good idea for you.

Your education is not just for the first job. It impacts your attitude and of course your life. It has far more impact than one might expect. Therefore, if you are choosing a college, spend enough time to do the research and see what all fits as per your requirements.
