Clinical Psychology is a specialised field in the area of Psychology. They work in close sync with mental health institutes, hospitals as well as Psychiatrist
Mainly deals with both neurotic and Psychotic ailments. They are mainly into diagnostics i.e. diagnosing an ailment through the use of various verbal and non verbal Psychometric test.
They are also into therapy or counseling but only after the Psychiatrist has finished the earlier Psychiatric treatment.
A Clinical Psychologist also deals with diagnosis (assessments) as well as counseling of issues related to anxiety, depression, relationship issues etc at the mild level.
A certified clinical psychologists is also into testing of learning difficulties and other learning related issues. And if certified, their reports or diagnosis can be used by schools and other institutes as well. Most importantly they can refer the client towards other help required like remedial educator or occupational therapist or speech therapist etc.
Please note, these days, a Clinical psychologist has expanded their horizons and are also into IQ testing. Few of them also learn about career counseling and conduct an Aptitude test too.
