Hi Mudit
As per my thinking, you are asking the wrong question about the best branch of engineering courses. Nowadays, there are too many good paying jobs available in all the sector of engineering branches, whether you go for Computer Science, Chemical, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering, etc. I do not think any fields are bad for any candidate, I would suggest you to go for the sector which offers more opportunities in comparing to other Sector of Engineering. In that sense, I would advise you to go for electronics and communication engineering branch for selection. There are more jobs available in ECE branch then others. Nowadays, majority of ECE candidates quickly gets jobs as soon as they complete their engineering degree. Infosys, which is the top leading IT sector company in India, is also looking for the candidate belongs from ECE graduates. Company offers more on campus drive jobs than any other company in India. Many jobs opportunity are available after completing B.Tech in Electronics & communication engineering in both private and government sector. Also You will get the wonderful opportunity to work for some of the top IT sector companies in the world that include Samsung, Bharti Airtel, Software giant Microsoft, etc. Many government sector jobs that are undertaken by Public sector are considered to be very well paid salary jobs. You can easily get a starting job with salary between Rs 20,000-Rs 60,000 in the Public Sector. Here is listed some companies that offer jobs to Electronics and Communication Engineers: DRDO, ISRO, INDIAN RAILWAYS, BALCO, GAIL, BHEL, IOCL, ONGC, BMRC. If you are not interested in working in government sector jobs there is no reason to be worried about it. You are free to looking jobs in private sector. First sector of engineering branch, where I would suggest you to apply would be IT sector companies. Approximate $60 billion worth of IT sector companies in India has huge needs of electronics and Communication Engineers aspirants or If you are not interested in ECE then I would suggest you to give Engineering Branch Selector test available at CareerGuide.com, It will suggest you the branch which is moreover based on your interest and aptitude. If you are really confused then I would highly recommend you to take this test after all it is all about your future.
All the best.
Dear Aspirant,
If you start your career and education keeping and focusing on this point of salary only, I am sorry to say that you will fail.
Your thought process needs to change from salary minded to job profile minded. You havr to first ask a question to yourself that what is the thing in you which will make the company give you good salary?
Salaries do not come for free.
All engineering branches are good salary earners. You have to be a good engineer first and then expect a good salary.
Mechanical, Civil, IT, Computers are good branches in Engineering which have a long term benefit and scope.
Best wishes
