Hello Dear Friend,
Welcome to CareerGuide.com smile
Thanks for coming with your query.

As everyone knows that the major occupation of India is Agriculture and it has been the Backbone of the countries economy. Therefore 70% of the professions are directly or indirectly connected with Agriculture.

Agricultural engineering is a branch of engineering in which deals with the application of engineering principles and technology practices to the efficient production of food and also processing of food ,fiber and fuels. The course is a blend of the principles of animal biology, plant biology, civil, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering.

Agricultural Engineering course is a course of 4 years after +2 from science with the subjects like Maths,Biology and Chemistry. The degree offered after +2 is either B.E or B.Tech. In Agricultural Engineering Course subjects that one studies are like Crop Production technology, Fundamentals of Soil Science, Agricultural Marketing,Agri Business Management,Transfer of Technology,Hydrology and Soil Conservation,Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics,Ground Water Drainage,Ground Water Hydrology,Surface and Pressure Irrigation System etc.

So answering your question that can one become an Agricultural Engineer without B.E /B.Tech. than answer to this question is NO because the subjects which one studies in the Agricultural Engineering are not taught in any other course. So in order to be an Agricultural Engineer one has to complete a B.E or B.Tech course .

However, if one is not interested to go with B.E /B.Tech but want to make a career in Agriculture than you have an option of going with B.Sc in Agriculture but its quite different from the Agricultural Engineering because both the fields are quite different with regards to the work profiles.

I hope you find this information useful and helpful.

Feel free to get in touch again for your career query.

Wish you Good Luck!!!

Thank You

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh K.
