Hi Renu,

The choice between job or study totally depends on your interest. If you wish to study than you can take up some Advance diploma courses. Competitive exams are for banking sector PO, for teaching you can take up UGC-NET, civil services IAS etc. You can even enroll yourself for Phd program. Along with that you can pursue job also,if you can manage both together.

Job options are:

MBA 's are employed in public and private sector industries, banking and financial institutions, corporate houses and multinational companies.

All the best

Hello congratulations on your MBA graduation. Reading on your inquiry I can understand that you have two questions, one about further studies and second about competitive exams for work. I shall explain on both here.

1. Further studies:
As you ahve completed your PGDM in HR and Marketing, I believe you stand eligible to do some profesisonal courses within management but it is necessary to have some work exp to be able to do these professional certifications. There are professional certifications in every field of management but all this will require you to have some years of work experience. Therfore I would suggest you to do a job and concurrently do these professional certifications. For example, with your case, as you have completed the PGDM with HR you are definitely eligible to study professional certificate in HR.

For this, you will need to join some company or even a recruitment agency and work in the recruitment area. And then you can do a professional certificate in recruitment. This will increase your chances of getting managerial jobs within recruitment. Likewise for every area within HR, there are professional certifications that you may do.

You may also do a higher doctoral degree like the PhD if you like. This will definitely stabilize your career and you have high earning opportunities. With your PGDM qualification you are eligible to study the PhD in Management with HR/ Marketing. However you also need to qualify National eligibility test (NET exam) as this is often the most required exam to be eligible to study PhD Management across anywhere in India. However you may also please note that almost all teh IIM's strictly require every studnet to have cracked CAT exam with a high score and ISB Hyderabad require either a GRE/ GMAT score mandatorily. Similarly for the IIT's you will need to have passed GATE/ CAT/ NET to be able to study PhD Management with HR/ Marketing. Writing NET and CAT will help you stay eligible to apply to most of the universities across India. PhD normally takes three to five years to complete when studied full time.

2. Professioanl exams:
In case you are interested to study PhD or other professional certifications as mentioned above then you may appear for professional bank exams or civil services exam. These competitive exams require intense preparation and high scores to find a job. I hope this helps. My best wishes to your career.
