The scope of BCA is expanding day by day with a rapid development in the field of software technology. What BCA is all about?
BCA stands for the bachelor in computer applications. It’s a 3 year undergraduate degree program generally for those students who want to learn computer languages like java, C++, C etc. and after that who are willing to join software and IT companies. Some students use online or distance education means to earn this lucrative 3 year course. Interestingly, it’s equivalent to bachelor of technology (b. Tech) course usually taken up by students. This course includes various subjects like database management system, computer languages, networking, web designing, visual basics, object oriented programming , world wide web ,data structure, etc. In this way, candidates learn about different fields of computer by pursuing a degree in computer applications.
Admission criterion for BCA:
The admission procedure for this course is much similar to other courses, as the student must have passed his 12th grade with approximately 45-50 percent marks in any stream. But some of the universities have some different policies for admission in BCA, as they demand Mathematics or Computer science as compulsory subject at 12th level whereas some prefer only science stream students. For admission to BCA program, a student must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria as mentioned above in accordance to the university in which he want to take admission in. Admission to a regular BCA program is generally through a common entrance test conducted by the respective universities. Generally, admission process for entrance exam for BCA starts in the month of May and June. Student can apply easily to such process. The application process may be online or offline or both. So, every university has their own set of rules and policies for admission and they may or may not conduct a specific entrance exam.
