This is the main responsibility of an air hostess. Be it safety drills, emergency situations or anything else, passenger needs to be informed about it. The air hostess is responsible for this also. Hardworking and Multitasking being an air hostess means you should be able to deal with a lot of things at the same particular point. This is not an easy task. They have to work 24 hours, they have to be alert all the time. This might seem like a glamorous job, but this is a hard work. This is not an easy task. Some jobs which the air hostess has to do are, catering the passengers, checking devices whether they are working or not, food inspection, talking to a passenger, meeting their needs, submitting reports after every flight. They need management techniques & time management. Hospitality there are so many types of people in the world, not every person is polite & patient. Air hostess needs to handle every type of people around them. On a daily basis, they come across around hundreds of people. Way to deal with every different person is different. There are a lot of times when flight attendants have to deal with very rude people. Air hostess need to make sure that the passengers have a good time during the flight & then use their airlines again & again. Air hostess needs to be kind, compassionate & polite for the same. These are the main skills or the characteristics which you need to learn for becoming an air hostess.
Flexibility and Adaptability they need to travel a lot may be around the world. Thus facing a lot of difficult climates, different working conditions. They need to adapt fast to their situation. They can’t complain about it. Their working schedule is also horrific. They also need to adjust their personal & professional life. Since they are traveling most of the time, it is difficult for them to manage both lives. Air hostess needs to be completely dedicated towards their work.

Traveling in flight can be dangerous, they have life risk. Sometimes passenger panic during flight. Flight attendant needs to be attentive towards risks. They should be aware of every situation, for every hazard. For an emergency situation, they need to be prepared. They should be able to deal with every situation.
Apart from all these skills they also need to be punctual, quick learner, welcoming nature, common sense & should have a strong reflex action.
Physical characteristics required: Age Limit there is no specific standard age limit, this limit varies with different countries & different Airlines. Mostly the institutes take students after their higher education so students in such institutes are above 16. After the course is completed the age limit for working is around 19 to 27 in India. In European countries the age limit is different they the people who are 35 or below. In the US, there is no age limit as such. But mostly the Airlines wants to recruit young faces, who are active & quick.
Height and Weight again same as age limit different countries follow different limits. But most candidates between the height of 5 feet 2 inches or 5 feet 3 inches are taken.in various institutes there is is no height & weight limit but when it comes to working, Airlines follow strict rules as per height & weight. Air hostess & flight attendants are made to sign a contract before joining. Air hostess can work until the age of 35. Normal Eyesight mostly institutes reject students on the basis on their eyesight. Candidates who are color blind or wear glasses or lenses are not selected as such. They need normal eyesight.
