Dear Aspirant
Welcome to CareerGuide.com
Thanks for posting your query here.

Nice speaking to you. You mentioned that you are good at theory subjects like History, Geography. English, Hindi etc etc. But let me remind you that even maths, physics, chemistry and every other subjects are based on theory and you could prove yourself in those areas also. Don't make yourself typecast with that "theory" remark.

Before choosing any career related course, you should take psychometric tests which measure your aptitude and attitude. These psychometric tests are able to identify your aptitude, attitude and your general personality. Once these things are known, you should be able to choose your own career pathway based on your skills which should be fool proof. means such selection should be a success in your career path and you are always a winner. These psychometric tests are available at this site itself.

Remember, career means passion towards your work. Approach your career with passion and you should succeed.

Hope this answers your query.
Good luck.

Dear student,

May I know what are your current subjects at school? I need your subject background to help you better with career options. However, I shall give you a brief idea on choosing the right career option for your future. It is a simple mantra or strategy that I have heard from educational licensed counsellors.

1. Filter out your favourite subject:
I believe you are currently at school level. If yes, write on a paper the subjects you are currently studing at school. You may write like this, English, second language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer science and so on. Now ask yourself which are the subjects that you like the most and not like the most. Rate them on a scale from 0-5. For subjects you like the most give 5 points and for subjects that you dont like give 0 or if you are little okay with that subject, give it a score between 1-4.

Now calculate and see yourself which subject takes the highest score given by you. So this explains, you are suitable to choose a career option based on this favourite subject of yours right from at school level.

2. Set the undergraduate level study:
Now with the subject that you have filtered out saying your most lovable subject, see what can you do with it college level to study an honors or undergraduate subject. For example, if your favorite subject was English from your assessment as done above, see what all you can study based on English at college level. You can study BA English, BA English with literature, BA Visual communications, BA Mass communications, BA English with journalism or BA English with corporate communications. English subject is an example given by me and you should explore the viable options that you can have through your favourite subject from the assessment. Always remember one thing, only when you study the subject you love, it will give you a good and stable career. So finding the subject you love to study at college level is crucial for career success.

3. Set the psotgraduate level study:
Now you can either go to work after undergraduate level or choose to a postgraduate course instead. The main advantage of doing post graduate course is it will make you specialised in a subject and keep you highly employable. It will offer you an indepth subject knowledge.

4. Hands on training/ projects:
To stabilise your career right from entry level when you start your job, it is necessary to have some hands on experience at college level itself. You can do industrial training, summer projects, internships or pet projects and the more you do these, the more skilled you will become. Companies will also prefer to employ you as you are going to them with skillful experience. I hope this helps. Good luck.
