JEE Main and Advanced syllabus
Hi Mudit,
An aspirant who wishes to study in the top engineering institutes like IIT and NIT will have to give few entrance exams. In this case there are two entrance exams – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Only the candidates who qualify the JEE Main can appear for JEE Advanced.
JEE- Main:
JEE Main will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage. The syllabus is similar to AIEEE and the questions will be from 11th and 12th portions majorly. The questions are of objective types. Each incorrect answer will deduct ¼ marks from your earned marks. The offline and online JEE- Main exams will be conducted on April 7th and April 8th of this year, respectively.
JEE- Advanced:
Only the top 1.5 lakh student who have passed the JEE- Main can write the JEE- Advanced. It consists of two papers. Both the papers will have objective questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The marking scheme is same as in JEE- Main. JEE- Advanced will be conducted on June 2nd of this year.

For a maths stream student JEE Main and JEE Advanced are the most valuable exam through which they will make their future in engineering.
Both exams are interrelated with some differences in terms of syllabus, paper pattern, accepting Institutes etc.

The main difference between both examinations is difference in their accepting institutes. Through JEE Main candidates get admission in NITs/IIITs/CFITs on the other hand IITs and ISM Dhanbad provide admissions through JEE Advanced.
