Hi There,
Though I agree that being a designer, your work would be restricted to the cubicles.
But communication or interaction or being social is completely the choice of an individual.
What I mean by choice is that, some people who are not that social, even though say they are working in the media field, they would just keep their interaction at bare minimum, and say someone who is highly social and say works in the research field, though being restricted will make ways to communicate.
Coming to your question.
As a jewellery designer, whether you freelance or work in a top company, interaction is very very important.
While freelancing too, you would be associated either directly with the customer or indirectly with the customer.Whether direct or indirect, you will have to communicate.
Anyways cutting the long story short, excellent communication skills, stressing more on the art of convincing is important in Jewelry designing field.
