Dear Aspirant,
Biology is a very good branch of science.
Kindly give us more details about you and in which standard you are in currently, so that we can guide you.
There is no specific biology college in India or abroad. If you have passed the 10th std, then I would suggest you to go to a good college for under graduation and it should be recognised by the local state examination board and then State University. You need to take PCB in 11th std.
Best wishes
Hello Sir I am not a Class 10th Student I have passed class 12th this year only with PCB background that is i physics , chemistry and bio . I gave AIPMT paper in which i scored 320 out of 720. I wanted to pursue MBBS BUT I HAVE DOUBTS REGARDING PURSUING MBBS. The doubts are:- 1. Sir as u know MBBS is 4.5 years oourse after doing mbbs will i have to study some more years to get good placement i mean practising in some good govt hospital or is it compulsory to study ms
3 Also Sir i am not seeing me as a doctor who can treat a patient anytime that is having this profession as my only priority.4 Also as i have taken BIO IF i had to switch to any other stream of bio kindly tell me the other stream sof bio with the college name. KINdly tell me as soon as posible.
Dear Harshit,
Firstly you will have to choose one from them - either MBBS or football.
Making a career in football is also possible only if you have real passion, readiness to face struggle at any level and tremendous patience. You do MBBS or football, both require hard work, sincerity and continuous efforts, practice and study.
Just MBBS is not sufficient these days since complexities have increased and a Masters degree is a must to survive the competition and to get good opportunities.
If you are not interested in being a Doctor, then taking Biology you can become anyone of the following and make your career successfully. But please remember there is no substitute for sincere studies.:
Hello Harshit,
I do agree with Dr Anandwadadekar, that passion in a field can help you deal with the toughest situation too.If you are passionate towards the doctor profession, nothing can stop you from being a doctor. And this is applicable to all fields. Please note there is no substitute for hardwork.
MBBS is a 4 1/2 years course, followed by an internship in rural areas. At the same time, please note that attending a patient anytime is the profile of the General Physician, whereas if you specialise in a field, and are associated with hospitals or clinics, you meet the patient based on appointment. So you can schedule accordingly. But initially to be well established you may have to put in extra efforts.
Coming to football playing as a hobby. Please note that in this busy life, whichever profession you are into pursuing a hobby is essential. It helps in relaxing and helps you get back to work refreshed. Here you need to prioritize your schedule and follow a strict regime / timetable.
Apart from the fields mentioned by the counselor above, you can also opt for:
As far as Colleges are concerned, please note that you need to choose on the basis of past records of the students, faculty and internship and placements provided.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck.............
can i do biotechnology with technical institute like iit ,niit, dtu as i am not having maths, is there are two types of biotechnology with maths or without maths i am still confuse in it
mam i am not able to understand the difference in biotechnology in btech and biotechnology with pcb background
Sorry did not notice your subject combination PCB.
For B.Sc or B.Tech Math is a must especially for engineering.
Nevertheless, if you are keen on studying biotech, then University have an option, whereby you can appear for Math paper seperately
The only difference which is clear from the terminology is that, As a B.Sc student, you would be mainly into filing or maintaining of equipment's. For getting into research you need an M.Sc degree. That too you would be working at the base level research.Whereas with B.Tech, you would be applying engineering principle into research and inventing new technologies with the same.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Wish you good luck...........
is there any scop of bsc in biotechnology then msc in biotechnology with any technocal universities like nit , dtu does it happen or not
mam i have good numerical aptitude and scientific skills which course i must opt bsc in biotechnology,b pharma, microbiology, physiotherapy or btech biotechnology
Looking at your varied choices and likings, I would strongly recommend you to take Ideal Career Test from Careerguide.com. This psychometric test will help you to reach a decision.
I feel, if Biology is strong, you can take pure / core biology courses instead of BioTechnology.
Dear Aspirant,Thanks for writing to us!
Well, first of all I would request you to evaluate your strengths and interests. You said you are good in maths. Then you should should courses like maths, population sciences, actuarial sciences, computer science, engineering. If you are good in biology then courses such as biology, microbiology, biotechnology, genetics, neuroscience would be good career choice.
Scope of biotechnology:Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field, which combines biological sciences with engineering technologies to manipulate living organisms and biological systems to produce products that advances healthcare, medicine, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals and environment control. Biotechnology can be classified into two broad categories: Biological Sciences (research) and Industrial Processes. The biological sciences deal with research and development in areas such as Microbiology, Cell biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology etc. to understand the occurrence and treatment of diseases, development of agriculture, food production, protection of the environment and many more. Industrial processes focuses on production of drugs, vaccines, biofuels and pharmaceuticals on an industrial scale using biochemical processes and techniques.
You can pursue BSC biotech or BTech biotech. If you are interested in research then BSC is good choice. BTech courses can be useful to apply industrial processes in productions. Doing coursed from NIT, IIT or reputed institutions will help you get good job opportunities. Usually agribusiness companies, pharmaceuticals, food production companies, laboratories or cacademic institutions hire BSc or BTech graduates ( biotechnology).

My question to you is How do you know your numerical Aptitude. Is it just a wild guess or have you undergone an Aptitude tests.
For the courses mentioned above, you need Math as a means of admission. So in-case if the Aptitude tests shows you have numerical aptitude, I would recommend appearing for Math paper so that your options are broader.
After that, would want you to read a bit on the streams mentioned and try to match it with your liking or interests. If possible meet professionals working in the specific field or meet the professors to get a better idea.
Once you read about the careers and still doubt exists, then being specific write back so that can throw light on a particular field
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck..........

Hey Harshit,
Interesting career potentials. Your assessments points out that you are a brilliant child with potentials to excel in any field you opt for. But mind you, one cannot try and succeed in all fields in this life span.
So here looking at your potentials as the report points out, your Creativity seems to be much more stronger. So here my question is Why then restrict yourself to Science related careers, when you can excel in the creativity area too.
To make a career in creativity like Media or entertainment etc, you need to shift into ARTS stream or Media field, whereby science would definitely not be a subject of study.
So one request now to you is, sit down and make note of your strengths and how well can you use them to your fullest.Think which field will make you last longer in terms of career where you will not be forced to earn a living but will be happily working with full potentials.
Way your pros and cons and take a decision. Do not hurry.Hope this helps.Wish you good luckk...
