A medical degree is never trouble-free. It is to a certain extent much more complicated in comparison to other career fields. MBBS stands for bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery. It is an undergraduate degree in the medical field. The period of this whole course is 5 years. In these 5 years, 1 year is for an internship which is obligatory. Students from science stream can go for this degree. The basic subjects taught are physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, pharmacology and pathology.

Getting admission to Medical College:
To seek admission in medical colleges, students have to qualify NEET examination. This exam includes physics, chemistry, zoology and botany. The syllabus is from 12th class. There are 180 questions in all, 45 questions from each subject. Questions are in the form of MCQ. 4 options are given and students have to tick the most appropriate answer. Candidates must score at least 50% if they belong to general category and 40% if belonging to SC/ST and OBC category.

Procedure:
Procedure is like first students have to clear the NEET exam, then merit list comes out and at last counselling session takes place. Admission at UCMS is based on the merit list of candidates. All categories are given this opportunity. This list is prepared only on the basis of Delhi students. There are 150 seats in total out of which 85% of total seats are for Delhi students, 15% are filled through the NEET examination, for OBC it is 27%, SC, it is 17% and for ST it is 7.5%. If the seats are left by any chance then other students who are not from Delhi, get this chance. Counselling is done on the basis of the score secured in NEET exam for the medical students. In a counselling session, students are informed about the various courses, which are available. Seats are then allotted to students in a counselling session after that student have to bring important documents, admit card, mark sheet etc to complete the procedure for admission.
