Hi There,
Interesting question, since you wish to develop other skills and not just academic qualifications.
As a Graphic designer, apart from your work knowledge which will be taught to you while in the course. As a Graphic designer, one of the necessary skill, you need to develop is:Communication Skill:Though you would be a person to be working all by yourself. But before you get into work and also after the work is almost done, when you need a kind of proof reading, you need to communicate with the client. Art of Convincing: Not just communicating, but also convincing the client, why a particular design would be good and why not the other design. Interrogative:Another important skill apart from communication and convincing is interrogation. Sometimes if you know why you are being hired, solves half your issue. So being able to question the client without being too personal, would help the client be specific and your work made easy.**Logical: **Again important here is being logical. Not because you like something, the client will blindly follow you. Whatever you say, must be logically supported. Like adding visual with a sound effect, since customers can be both visual as well as auditory. So the client can target the entire masses. But this would depend upon many other factors.Patience: Last but not the least, you need a lot of Patience. The client may bother you every second, but you need to keep your cool and be charismatic with the client, so that he promotes you to his friends and in turn you attain more business.
Other than this, normally a designer is supposed to have the following skills without mentioning:
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck............
